Seafood Industry Training Package - Update

 

Proposed Specialist Environmental Management Qualifications

The EMS project that commenced last December is now near completion. The final drafts have been passed over to AgriFood Skills Council ready for submission to the Department of Education, Science and Technology (DEST). The packaging rules and five new SFI competencies can be previewed from the links below.

The qualifications were developed in response to an identified need by seafood businesses to have pathway for developing skills to implement/monitor and improve on an environmental management system once it was established. It also meets a future need for EMS Facilitators within the seafood industry. Workers in the industry benefit from additional career pathways.
