Diving Stream - New and Changed Units


REVIEW HOME

Eight new units have been developed that cover the skills and knowledge required by occupational divers in the seafood industry. They are designed to align with accredited dive qualifications that some sectors of the Australian seafood industry are required to complete in order to meet the requirements of OH & S authorities and sector diving codes of practices.

While most of the units are focused on generic diving skills and knowledge two of the units include specific wild-catch or aquaculture sector requirements. It is proposed that the units are part of the Certificate III in the Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations) and make up a diving specific functional area for those people wanting to specialise as a diver in the seafood industry.
